Somali Government Calls for Peace Amid Rising Brutal Clan Revenge Actions

Mogadishu (LM) The Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia has issued a strong call for peace in response to increasing incidents of violence and targeted attacks that contravene Islamic principles and Somali cultural values.
In a statement released on 9th November 2025, the Ministry condemned the recent killings and violent acts that have disrupted communities across the country. Officials emphasized that such actions not only undermine the foundations of peace and stability but also go against the core tenets of Islam and the rich traditions of Somali society.
The call comes after a shocking incident in a village under Wanleweyn of Lower Shabelle of South West State of Somalia, where armed clan militias have brutally tortured and ultimately burned an elderly man in a horrific act of clan revenge. T
The Ministry urged all citizens to reject violence and work collaboratively towards fostering a culture of peace and mutual respect. They highlighted the importance of community engagement and dialogue in resolving conflicts and promoting harmony among different clans and groups.
This appeal comes at a time when Somalia is grappling with multiple challenges, including political instability and ongoing security threats. The government is calling on local leaders, civil society, and the public to unite in the pursuit of a peaceful and prosperous future for all Somalis.
The Ministry’s call for peace resonates with many who are weary of the violence that has plagued the nation for years. As the situation continues to evolve, there is hope that this initiative will encourage a collective effort towards lasting peace and reconciliation in Somalia.
