
Mohamed, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Blue Sky Energy Company Ltd., has been honored with the Special Leadership Award by the Somali Leadership Awards in recognition of his leadership, business management expertise, and contribution to Somalia’s energy sector.
Mohamed is a seasoned business executive with more than a decade of experience in leadership and management. Since 2014, he has held progressively senior positions across finance, operations, logistics, and commercial management, with a particular focus on the energy industry.
His professional background covers key areas of the energy value chain, including petroleum distribution, fuel wholesale operations, electricity utility management, commercial operations, and customer service.

As COO of Blue Sky Energy Company Ltd., Mohamed is responsible for overseeing daily operations, improving efficiency, leading business transformation initiatives, and supporting the implementation of the company’s long-term strategic objectives. His leadership has contributed to strengthening operational performance and improving customer service in Somalia’s competitive energy market.
Before becoming COO, Mohamed served in several management positions, including Commercial Director, Finance and Human Resources Manager, Accountant, and Logistics Officer. These roles have given him broad expertise in financial management, operations, business development, and corporate leadership.
In addition to his executive career, Mohamed has nearly a decade of experience as a university lecturer. He has taught Accounting, Financial Management, Business Administration, and related subjects at universities in Somalia, contributing to the development and mentorship of future business professionals.
Mohamed holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), as well as professional diplomas in Internal Auditing and Accounting for Islamic Banks. He has also completed executive training in Business Growth Strategy and Investment Planning delivered by the IFC – World Bank Group, alongside other leadership and professional development programmes.
The Special Leadership Award was presented to Mohamed on 19 August 2026 in Mogadishu, recognizing his professional achievements and commitment to responsible business leadership. Throughout his career, Mohamed has championed integrity, accountability, innovation, and collaboration. His continued focus on operational excellence, human capital.
