SNA Carries out Military Operation Against Terrorists in Bakool Region

Mogadishu (LM)The Somali National Army (SNA) carried out a planned military operation last night in the Moora-Gaabeey area, located 37 km from the Xuddur district in the Bakool region.
The operation, strategically organized, led to the elimination of more than three terrorists and resulted in injuries to over ten members of the militia. This decisive action underscores the SNA’s ongoing commitment to combating anti-peace groups in the region.
In addition to neutralizing insurgent threats, the SNA, particularly the 9th Battalion of the 60th Division, successfully recovered military equipment. The cache included weapons and ammunition used by the militia, further crippling their operational capabilities.
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Yaris Adan, Commander of the 60th Division of the SNA, addressed the media afterward, stating, “This operation is part of our ongoing efforts to eliminate the Khawarij threat. The Army remains committed to ensuring the security of this area and the safety of the Somali people.”
This operation forms part of a larger strategy aimed at stabilizing regions affected by insurgency and restoring peace to communities throughout Somalia.
