Somali Cabinet Discusses National Security and Stability

Mogadishu (LM) The Council of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Somalia convened for a special meeting today, chaired by Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre. The primary focus of the meeting was to assess the overall security situation in the country, coordinate efforts among security agencies, and discuss the community’s role in enhancing stability.

During the meeting, the Council emphasized the importance of preparing the nation for upcoming events, including Eid celebrations, Freedom Week, and the certification exams for students. These preparations are seen as vital for fostering a sense of unity and resilience within the community.

Additionally, the Council highlighted Somalia’s recent membership in the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and UN-HABITAT, describing it as a historic achievement for the nation. This membership is expected to facilitate access to resources and support for environmental and urban development initiatives.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to strengthen collaboration among security agencies and engage the community in efforts to promote peace and stability as the nation approaches these significant celebrations.
