Mogadishu Mayor Inspects Frontline Areas in Middle Shabelle

Mogadishu (LM) The Governor of the Banadir Regional Administration and Mayor of Mogadishu, General Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), conducted an operational inspection today at the frontline areas of the ongoing conflict in the Middle Shabelle Region.

Leading the delegation was Ambassador Ahmed MoalinFiqi, the Minister of Defense of Somalia, accompanied by General Sahal Abdullah Omar, Commander of the Somali National Army, MP Osman Haadole, and Colonel Mahmoud Mohamed Masdile, Governor of the Middle Shabelle Regional Administration.

During his visit to the Haji Ali area in the Adale district, General Mungab commended the Somali National Army and local forces for their brave defense of the nation and its people. As a token of appreciation, he awarded the troops 20 heads of cattle, which were distributed among various frontline areas.

In his remarks, General Muungaab stated the Banadir Regional Administration’s full support for the joint forces combating the Khawarij, stating that the security of Mogadishu is closely linked to the stability of neighboring regions, especially the two Shabelles. He announced plans to visit additional areas in the Lower Shabelle Region in the coming days to bolster cooperation and ongoing military operations.

The Mayor also indicated that the Banadir administration would enhance inspections and operations against terrorist groups, by the directives of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
