Former Prime Minister Ali Gedi Calls for Local Participation in Defense Efforts

Mogadishu (LM) In a recent statement, former Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Gedi emphasized the importance of local involvement in the ongoing fight against terrorism and insecurity in Somalia. Wearing a military uniform, Gedi declared, “I wear a military uniform, and the news goes out, so let anyone born in that area join the fight; that’s where we make decisions for our people. Let’s meet in Wargadhi’”

Gedi’s call to action comes amid escalating security concerns in various regions of the country. He urged citizens, particularly those from affected areas, to actively participate in defense efforts and support the Somali National Army (SNA) and local forces in their mission to restore peace.

The former Prime Minister’s remarks resonate with a growing sentiment among community leaders and citizens who believe that local engagement is crucial for effective security operations. “Our people know their land and its challenges better than anyone,” Gedi added, reinforcing the idea that grassroots involvement is essential for sustainable solutions.

Local leaders have echoed Gedi’s call, encouraging young men and women to take an active role in defending their communities. As Somalia continues to confront threats from militant groups, the emphasis on local participation highlights a strategic approach to security that relies on the strengths and knowledge of the populace.

As the situation evolves, Gedi’s message aims to inspire unity and resilience among Somalis in the face of adversity, fostering a collective effort to secure a peaceful future for the nation.
