Mogadishu, July 1, 2025 — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, raised the flag at the National Palace this evening to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Somalia’s independence and unity.
The flag-raising ceremony took place at the Palace, where the President received a salute from units of the Somali National Army.
This historic commemoration holds special significance and pride for the Somali people, reflecting the courageous struggle they undertook for the country’s independence and unity.
