Somalia’s South West State Interim Leader Arrives in Baidoa for Governance Talks

BAIDOA, Somalia, April 2 (LM) – A delegation led by the Interim Leader of South West State, Jibriil Cabdirashiid Xaaji Cabdi, arrived on Thursday in Baidoa, the capital of the Bay region, officials said.
The delegation was received at Baidoa airport by government ministers, local politicians, military officers, and members of the public, according to local authorities.
The visit comes as part of ongoing efforts to finalize plans for establishing a governance system that reflects the will of the people of South West State, in line with commitments made by the Federal Government of Somalia.
Officials said discussions during the visit are expected to focus on advancing the state formation process and strengthening local administration.
