Mogadishu, April 21, 2025 – Leadership Magazine officially announced the list of the Top 100 Somali Leaders of 2025, following a broad online voting process that saw participation from the Somali public.
The well-organized ceremony took place in Mogadishu, where outstanding achievements and contributions of leaders from various sectors of society were recognized. The event aimed to bring together leaders from business, healthcare, education, and politics to acknowledge and honor their role in advancing the country and its people.
The list of 100 leaders included top national figures such as the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, the Prime Minister, the Speakers of both Houses of Parliament, Members of Parliament, ministers, diplomats, doctors, and business leaders.
The award for Leader of the Year 2025 was presented to Mr. Ibrahim Ali Shido, CEO of Banaadiria Coffee. Meanwhile, the State Leader of the Year award was given to the Vice President of Galmudug State, Mr. Ali Dahir Ciid. In addition, the Women Leader of the Year 2025 award was awarded to Aamina Farah M., from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, where she works on Gender Equality and Youth Affairs.
The annual event, organized by Leadership Magazine Somalia, was attended by ministers, members of parliament, ambassadors, business leaders, academics, and other distinguished guests. Its main objective is to inspire and recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to Somali society, wherever they may be in the world.
The event was officially closed by former Prime Minister of Somalia, H.E. Ali Mohamed Gedi, who delivered an inspiring message on the importance of unity, leadership, and national progress.
“Somalia’s future lies in the hands of its leaders, those who dare to serve with integrity, vision, and commitment. Tonight, we celebrate not just achievements, but the hope and direction of our nation,” he said.
