Somali Prime Minister Receives UNICEF Representative in Mogadishu

Mogadishu (LM) The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, today received the newly appointed UNICEF Representative to Somalia, Ms. Sandra Lattouf, at his office in Mogadishu.
The Prime Minister Hamza described the key achievements of the DanQaran Government, noting that Somalia has entered a significant phase of reform and state-building. He emphasized the importance of the National Transformation Plan (NTP) 2025–2029 as the central framework guiding the country’s development priorities.
The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to UNICEF for its continued support in critical sectors, including education, healthcare, child nutrition, and the provision of clean water to vulnerable communities, particularly those affected by recurring droughts.
For her part, Ms. Sandra Lattouf reaffirmed UNICEF’s commitment to supporting the Federal Government of Somalia and strengthening bilateral cooperation. She underscored UNICEF’s dedication to enhancing essential social services, especially child health and immunization programs, combating malnutrition, advancing education, and expanding access to clean water and sanitation services.
