Mogadishu (LM) The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, attended a significant ceremony recognizing the contributions of national exam officials for the 2024–2025 academic year. This event also marked the conclusion of the national teachers’ training program and the official commencement of the 2025/2026 school year.
Organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Higher Education, the ceremony celebrated the successful training of 3,000 teachers from various regions across the country—the training aimed to enhance their teaching skills and introduce modern educational methodologies.
In his address, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended the leadership and staff of the Ministry for their dedication to improving the education sector. He highlighted their efforts in motivating teachers, overseeing this year’s national exam, and ensuring that Somali children receive a unified and quality education.
The President further urged the Higher Education Committee to prioritize the quality of university education and to foster research initiatives. He emphasized that the nation’s progress is inherently linked to the quality of knowledge possessed by Somali youth.
