Somali Prime Minister Calls for Unity and Democratic Progress at NCF

Mogadishu (LM) The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, who chaired the second day of the National Consultation Forum in Mogadishu, reported on the Government’s DanQaran policy regarding unity, security, elections, constitutional completion, state-building, economic development, and the National Plan (NTP).

Mr. Hamza emphasized that the country is at a crucial stage that requires strengthening the unity of the people to overcome existing challenges and find viable solutions to all disputes.

“Somalia is at a turning point where we need a policy based on principles, and citizens should have the opportunity to elect and be elected. This forum is an inclusive platform, and everyone has participated, including all those wishing to lead,” he stated.

The Prime Minister urged the Somali people to unite against the Al-Shabaab militants and to implement the vital electoral and major plans essential for the state-building of our country.

“The challenges we face are not easy, and the tasks ahead are significant. On one side, we confront an enemy that poses a threat to our religion, culture, governance, and the existence of our nation,” the Prime Minister said, adding, “On the other hand, we are working towards building a democratic government with a complete constitution and ensuring the unity and independence of our country. Therefore, ‘with one hand, we will fight our enemies, and with the other, we will build our nation.’”
