UN Rights Chief Condemns Israel’s Actions in Gaza

Gaza (LM) The United Nations rights chief, Volker Turk, has condemned Israel’s conduct in the besieged Gaza Strip amid ongoing deadly attacks. This statement comes as the country faces missile exchanges with its regional rival, Iran.

In a recent address, Turk highlighted that Israel’s “means and methods of warfare are inflicting horrifying, unconscionable suffering on Palestinians in Gaza.” Reports indicate that over 19 months of escalating violence have resulted in the deaths of at least 55,362 individuals, including thousands of children, according to local health officials.

The UN continues to call for an immediate cessation of violence and urges all parties to prioritize the protection of civilians. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza demands urgent international attention and action.
