Somali Cabinet Reappoints Mahad Salad as New Director of NISA

Mogadishu (LM) The Cabinet of the Federal Republic of Somalia convened for an urgent meeting today. During the meeting, they approved the proposal from the Ministry of Internal Security to reappoint Mr. Mahad Mohamed Salad as the new Director of the National Security and Intelligence Agency (NISA).

Mr. Salad brings knowledge and experience in intelligence and national security operations. His background includes significant roles as a former Minister, Member of Parliament, and previously, Director of NISA. His appointment is expected to enhance the agency’s effectiveness in addressing the country’s security challenges.

During the meeting, the Cabinet expressed gratitude to the outgoing Director, Mr. Abdullahi Mohamed Ali, recognizing his contributions to national security during his tenure. The Council acknowledged the critical role he played in advancing the agency’s objectives and wished him success in his future endeavors.

As Mr. Salad steps into his new role, he is expected to focus on strengthening national security measures and improving intelligence operations across the country.
