Airstrikes Target Al-Shabaab Weapons Depots and Training Centers

Mogadishu (LM) Airstrikes have successfully destroyed multiple weapons depots belonging to the Al-Shabaab terror group, leading to significant damage in several towns known for stockpiling munitions. Key targets included the main depot in Jilib, which housed several missiles and is now in flames, along with the group’s headquarters in the Sablaale district.
In the town of Kunya-barow, another cache of missiles was discovered, identified as a crucial operational base for the group. The airstrikes also targeted a training center where over 300 individuals, including soldiers, foreign nationals, and African leaders, were present at the time. Tragically, the attack resulted in the deaths of 29 officers, the majority of whom were foreigners.
Among those killed was Sheikh Ahmed Nuunow (Jacfar), the head of Al-Shabaab’s library, as well as the logistics chief at the Asad Dheere training center. The group’s head of security, Dahir Taawane (Daariq), reportedly remains unaccounted for.
These airstrikes mark a significant escalation in efforts to dismantle Al-Shabaab’s operational capabilities and reduce their influence in the region. As the situation develops, local and international authorities continue to monitor the impact of these military actions on the group’s activities.
