Prime Minister Hamsa Meets Acting Special Representative of the African Union to Somalia

Mogadishu (LM) The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, welcomed the Acting Special Representative of the African Union to Somalia, Mr. Kareem Adebayo, to his office in Mogadishu. The two leaders held discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and the African Union’s continued role in advancing security and stabilization efforts in Somalia.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Hamsa congratulated Mr. Adebayo on his recent appointment, expressing Somalia’s gratitude for the enduring partnership with the African Union. He commended the AU’s significant contributions to Somalia’s peace, stability, and state-building processes, noting the importance of continued collaboration to achieve shared goals.

“We deeply value the historic partnership between Somalia and the African Union,” said Prime Minister Hamsa. “Your support has been crucial in advancing peace and stability, and we look forward to working together to build a stronger, more prosperous Somalia.”

In response, Mr. Kareem Adebayo thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception and pledged to maintain close cooperation with Somali government institutions. He reaffirmed the African Union’s commitment to supporting the Federal Government of Somalia in achieving its key priorities, including security, stabilization, and development.

“The African Union remains steadfast in its support for Somalia’s efforts to build a secure and stable nation,” Mr. Adebayo stated. “We will continue to work closely with your government to overcome challenges and realize the shared vision of peace and progress.”

The meeting highlighted the strong collaboration between the Federal Government of Somalia and the African Union, emphasizing the critical role of the AU in supporting Somalia’s journey toward lasting peace and development.
