Ministry of Health, Galmudug, Hosts Strategic Meeting with UNICEF and WHO to Enhance Healthcare Services

Dhusamareeb (LM) The Ministry of Health of Galmudug State convened a high-level strategic meeting in Dhusamareeb with key partners from UNICEF and WHO Somalia. The meeting, chaired by State Minister Hon. Daahir Farah, focused on strengthening healthcare systems and improving service delivery across the region.

Key topics on the agenda included enhancing coordination between stakeholders, scaling up essential health services, improving maternal and child health outcomes, and strengthening emergency response systems to address health crises effectively.

Hon. Daahir Farah emphasized the importance of collective action in tackling the region’s healthcare challenges. “This partnership is vital for ensuring that all communities in Galmudug have access to quality healthcare services. Together, we can build a stronger, more resilient healthcare system,” the State Minister stated.

Representatives from UNICEF and WHO reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Galmudug’s Ministry of Health in its mission to deliver accessible, equitable, and quality healthcare. They highlighted ongoing programs and pledged to expand support in critical areas such as immunization, nutrition, maternal health, and emergency preparedness.

“Ensuring the health and well-being of every child and family in Galmudug remains a top priority for UNICEF,” said a UNICEF representative. “We are committed to working alongside the Ministry of Health to achieve this shared goal.”

WHO Somalia echoed the sentiment, underscoring the importance of collaboration in addressing public health challenges. “Strengthening health systems in Galmudug is essential for saving lives and improving overall health outcomes,” a WHO representative remarked.
