Somalia and Sudan Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Mogadishu (LM) The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Abdulsalam Abdi Ali, welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Abdulrahman Khalil Ahmed Abker Afandi, in his office on Wednesday. This courtesy visit focused on exploring avenues to strengthen bilateral relations between the two sister countries.

During their meeting, Minister Abdulsalam and Ambassador Afandi discussed various areas of cooperation, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in sectors of mutual interest. The discussions aimed to enhance diplomatic ties and foster partnerships that can benefit both nations.

“We are committed to expanding our cooperation with Sudan,” stated Minister Abdulsalam. “By working together, we can address common challenges and promote mutual development.”

Ambassador Afandi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated Sudan’s readiness to enhance its relations with Somalia. He highlighted the potential for joint initiatives in trade, security, and cultural exchange.
