Somalia’s Foreign Affairs State Minister Declares Nation on Path to Stability

Kampala (LM) H.E. Ali Mohamed Omar, State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, delivered a compelling speech at the Troop Contributing Countries (TCCs) Ministerial Meeting, asserting that Somalia is no longer a country in political turmoil but one committed to securing peace and stability.

In his opening remarks, Minister Omar expressed gratitude to the Republic of Uganda for hosting the summit and acknowledged the steadfast commitment of TCCs to Somalia’s security. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in fostering stability not only within Somalia but across the broader region.

Noting the African Union Mission, which is transitioning to the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), Minister Omar described it as a cornerstone of Somalia’s journey toward peace. He paid tribute to the sacrifices made by troops over the past 18 years, stating, “The Somali people are eternally grateful,” and recognizing the fallen heroes who have fought for a chance at lasting peace.

His remarks resonated with the audience, reflecting a united commitment to continue the fight for stability and development in Somalia. The meeting serves as a pivotal platform for discussing strategies that will enhance security cooperation and support the ongoing transition in Somalia.
