Somali Ambassador to China Begins Mission to Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (LM) Dr. Hodan Osman Abdi, the Somali Ambassador to China, has officially commenced her mission as the non-resident Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Mongolia. The ceremony took place as she presented a copy of her credentials to H.E. Mr. Ts. Ankhbayar, Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
Somalia and Mongolia established formal diplomatic relations on February 28, 1971. Over the past five decades, the two nations have cultivated a bond based on mutual respect and a shared commitment to international cooperation, peace, and development.
“Today, I had the distinct honor of presenting a copy of my credentials to H.E. Mr. Ts. Ankhbayar, Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, marking the beginning of my mission as the non-resident Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Mongolia,” she said.
Ambassador Hodan acknowledged Mongolia’s rich cultural heritage and its strong tradition of diplomacy, emphasizing its constructive role in multilateral forums. She noted that Somalia and Mongolia have often collaborated on issues of global importance, including peacekeeping and sustainable development, particularly through the United Nations.
As she embarks on her tenure, Ambassador Hodan expressed her eagerness to strengthen bilateral ties and expand trade, education, and cultural exchange cooperation. She also highlighted the importance of deepening collaboration in the multilateral arena.
Concluding her remarks, she thanked the Government of Mongolia for the warm welcome and expressed her enthusiasm for engaging with the beautiful country and its people in the future.
