Rage-elle, Somalia (LM) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, returned to key regions in the fight against terrorism, following meetings in Mogadishu with the new Chairperson of the African Union.
Addressing hundreds of local veterans in Raaga Elle, Middle Shabelle region, President Mohamud emphasized the importance of resilience in the face of terrorism. “We must endure the hardships brought on by these acts of violence; we cannot allow our people to suffer any longer,” he stated, rallying support for the ongoing struggle for justice.
The President then traveled to the Adale district, where he will oversee the organization and execution of counter-terrorism operations aimed at combating the Khawarij, a militant group posing significant threats to security in the region. His leadership and commitment to these efforts are seen as vital in the fight against terrorism and restoring peace in Somalia.
The President’s visit underscores the government’s dedication to strengthening security and mobilizing local communities in the ongoing battle against extremist violence.
