Somali Ambassador to Mongolia Enhances Bilateral Cooperation with Key Meetings

Ulaanbaatar (LM) Dr. Hodan Osman Abdi, the non-resident Ambassador of the Federal Government of Somalia to Mongolia, conducted a productive meeting in Ulaanbaatar with Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ms. Battsetseg Batmunkh, and the Minister of Education and Science, Mr. Purevsurengiin Naranbayar.

The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Somalia and Mongolia, with a particular emphasis on opportunities in the fields of education, trade, and knowledge exchange.

Mongolia has made significant strides in education, boasting a literacy rate of 95%. The country recently received an international award for its high-quality online education program, which has successfully provided individuals in remote areas access to quality education.

Regarding trade, both sides acknowledged the potential for expanding economic cooperation, particularly regarding Somali exports such as agricultural products, fisheries, and other commodities. Mongolia, with its growing economy, has expressed a keen interest in establishing a lasting trade relationship with Somalia.

Ambassador Dr. Hodan Osman Abdi conveyed Somalia’s readiness to collaborate with the Mongolian government to cultivate a robust relationship grounded in genuine cooperation, mutual understanding, and shared interests. This meeting marks a significant step toward enhancing ties between the two nations.
