Minnesota (LM) The organization VOS, based in Minnesota, has dedicated the past 15 years to community development and engagement. In late 2025, it introduced the Somali Hero Awards (SOHA) to recognize and celebrate individuals who inspire their communities.
Mr. Ali Gaashaan, the founder of VOS and president of the Somali Hero Awards, shared with Leadership Magazine that the awards aim to honor deserving individuals who have made significant contributions.
This SOHA event will unite Somalis from around the globe, especially those involved in community service, to pay tribute to the heroes who have fought for the nation.
The awards will be presented online, enabling the community to vote for deserving candidates at somaliheroawards.com. Dignitaries and honored guests from the organization will also join the celebration.
The Somali Hero Awards will be an annual event, highlighting individuals who have achieved notable success and made a positive impact in their communities.
