Upper House Committee on Internal Affairs Holds First Meeting of Sixth Session

Mogadishu (LM) The Committee on Internal Affairs, Federal Reconciliation, and Relations between Member States of the Upper House of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia convened for its first meeting of the Sixth Session today.

The meeting, which was chaired by Senator Deeqa Hassan Hussein, focused on an internal briefing and the preparation of the Committee’s priority activities for the upcoming session. Committee members discussed various strategic issues and outlined key objectives to enhance their work.

In a significant decision, the Committee resolved to invite representatives from the Independent Electoral Commission and the National Assembly to present reports on their respective activities. This move aims to foster collaboration and ensure that the Committee is well-informed on pertinent matters as it progresses in its legislative duties.

The meeting underscores the Committee’s commitment to addressing internal affairs and promoting effective governance in Somalia, setting a proactive tone for the sessions ahead.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to reducing malaria cases and improving health outcomes through ongoing health initiatives and partnerships. The commemoration aimed to empower communities with knowledge and resources to protect themselves against malaria, fostering a collective effort to eliminate the disease in Somalia.
