Upper House Committee on Foreign Affairs Holds First Meeting of Sixth Session

Mogadishu (LM) The Committee on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Planning, Investment, and Economic Development of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia convened for its first meeting today as part of the Sixth Session of Parliament. This meeting aimed to fulfill the committee’s constitutional duties and set the agenda for upcoming initiatives.
At the Meeting, chaired by Senator Maryan Farah Kahiye, the committee members engaged in discussions on strategies to accelerate their work. A key focus of the meeting was the Bill for the Establishment of the Somali Investment Authority, which is currently under the committee’s purview.
The members reached a consensus to schedule additional meetings to further develop this crucial legislation, emphasizing its importance for fostering economic growth and attracting investment in Somalia.
As the committee moves forward, there is a strong commitment to enhancing international cooperation and promoting sustainable development within the country.
