Mogadishu, August 23, 2025 – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has congratulated Dr. Aadan Abdullahi Aw-Hassan on his election as the Speaker of the Northern East State Parliament of Somalia.
The President noted that this election represents an important step in strengthening state-building and the various institutions working for the public interest and regional development.
“I wish the new Speaker success in the heavy responsibilities entrusted to him, and I believe he will play a significant role in ensuring state-building, completing the electoral process, and upholding the rule of law,” he stated.
The President also commended the members of the Northern East State Parliament and expressed his hope that they will succeed in the remaining work of the elections and state-building efforts.
