Somali Parliamentarians Attend Training Workshop in Beijing

Beijing, China (LM)-Members of both Houses of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia participated in a six-day training workshop in Beijing, aimed at enhancing their legislative skills and international cooperation.
The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China in collaboration with the Center for International Cooperation under the National Development and Reform Commission of China. The training focused on various aspects of governance, economic development, and legislative processes.
During the opening session, several officials from both Houses of the Somali Parliament, along with the Minister of State for Family and Human Rights, delivered remarks highlighting the importance of the training in strengthening Somalia’s legislative capacity.
In a gesture of goodwill and cultural exchange, the Somali Ambassador to China presented a gift reflecting Somali culture to Ms. Qui Ainun, the Director General of the Center for International Cooperation. This exchange symbolizes the commitment to fostering strong bilateral relations between Somalia and China.
The workshop is expected to equip Somali parliamentarians with valuable insights and skills that will contribute to the development of robust policies and governance in their home country.
