Mogadishu, July 13, 2025 – The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) conducted a successful operation last night in the village of Bulo-xoog, near Buq-Aqable in the Hiran region, resulting in the deaths of up to seven members of the Khawarij militia. The operation also led to the destruction of two trucks carrying weapons and militia personnel.
NISA had been closely monitoring the movements of the vehicles and their militia escorts, acting on verified intelligence regarding the Khawarij’s activities. The operation commenced as the vehicles returned from the Shaw area and made their way towards Buq-Aqable.
According to officials, the operation effectively cleared the area of both weapons and militants. Evidence of the successful mission, including video footage captured by NISA surveillance cameras, will be shared with the Somali community to illustrate the significant defeat inflicted on the terrorists.
This operation underscores NISA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing security and combating terrorism in Somalia, as the agency continues to monitor and respond to threats against the nation’s stability.
