NISA Conducts Successful Operation Against Al-Shabaab in Galgadud Region

Mogadishu (LM) The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), in collaboration with international partners, successfully executed a planned operation in the Ceel-dhiiqo Weyne area, situated between Ceel-lahelay and Ceel-garas in the Galgaduud region.
The operation led to the elimination of 12 members of the Al-Shabaab militant group, including several senior leaders. Additionally, 13 other militants sustained severe injuries during the confrontation.
A significant focus of the operation was a facility where over 400 militants were reportedly undergoing training. Security forces effectively targeted this location, disrupting the group’s capacity to recruit and train new members.
Following the operation, NISA is actively pursuing the remaining Al-Shabaab fighters who fled towards the Ebur district. Authorities have emphasized their commitment to enhancing security and stability in the region, working diligently to dismantle the operational capabilities of the militant group.
The successful execution of this operation underscores the ongoing efforts by Somali security forces, supported by international partners, to combat terrorism and ensure the safety of Somali citizens. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
