Minister of Public Works Hosts Consultative Meeting on Urbanization and IDP Solutions

Mogadishu (LM) The Ministry of Public Works, Housing, and Reconstruction convened a significant consultative meeting at its headquarters, aimed at enhancing collaboration with the National Center for Rural Development and Sustainable Solutions.

The meeting, chaired by Dr. Elmi Mahamoud Nur, the Minister of Public Works, Housing, and Reconstruction, featured the participation of Zahra Abdi Mohamed, the Director-General of the Center. Both leaders emphasized the urgency of accelerating cooperative efforts focused on urbanization and sustainable solutions for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Throughout the discussions, the officials reached a consensus on the necessity of implementing effective joint plans designed to improve the quality of life for IDPs and contribute to the overall development of Somali society. These initiatives are expected to address the myriad challenges faced by displaced individuals, fostering a more sustainable and inclusive future.

This meeting marks a pivotal step in the Ministry’s commitment to addressing urbanization challenges and improving living conditions for vulnerable populations in Somalia.
