Ankara (LM) A delegation from the Federal Government of Somalia has commenced a media exchange visit to Ankara, Turkey. Led by Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Mr. Abdirahman Yusuf Omar (Al-Adaala), the group includes Media Directors from the Offices of the President and Prime Minister and Senior Advisors in Media Relations.
The delegation toured TRT, one of the largest media organizations worldwide. They were introduced to the operational model and had the opportunity to explore the studios and archives.
At Havelsan, the delegation learned about advancements in communication and technology, focusing on their applications in land, air, and sea defense. The discussions highlighted Turkey’s rapid progress in military technology and its strong support for Somalia.
The visit culminated with a two-day workshop at the Anadolu Agency. This session focused on effective media relations during elections, crisis management, and strategies for combating fake news and misinformation.
This visit underscores the commitment to enhancing media collaboration and sharing best practices between Somalia and Turkey, fostering stronger ties and mutual understanding.
