IGAD Deputy Executive Secretary Engages in Productive Talks with EU on Key Issues

Mogadishu (LM) The Deputy Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), H.E. Mohamed Abdi Warre, held a series of constructive discussions with European Union representatives to enhance cooperation on critical issues affecting the region.

During the talks, which focused on peace and security, migration, climate resilience, and food security, both parties emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to address the pressing challenges facing the IGAD member states.

The discussions highlighted the need for sustained efforts to promote stability in the region, with an emphasis on conflict prevention and resolution strategies.

Both IGAD and EU representatives acknowledged the complexities of migration in the region and explored avenues for creating safe and legal pathways for migrants, as well as enhancing support for displaced populations.
