Hirshabelle Council of Ministers Convenes on Key Issues: Fight Against Khawarij, Impact of Rain, and Health Service Distribution

Jowhar, April 28, 2025 — The President of Hirshabelle State, Mr. Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Ali Guudlawe), chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers that addressed several critical issues affecting the region. The meeting commenced with the swearing-in of the new Ministers of Public Works and Energy and Water.

Mr. Mohamed Kheyre, the Minister of Internal Security, briefed the Council on the ongoing operation to eradicate the Khawarij, expressing gratitude to the local communities and central forces in Middle Shabelle and Hiran for their significant role in driving out these insurgents.

The Council also discussed the recent heavy rains in Hirshabelle State, noting their impact on transportation and accessibility in various areas.

Additionally, Mr. Mahmoud Abdi, the Minister of Planning, provided updates on the progress of development projects for the year 2025.

In a decisive move, President Ali Abdullahi Hussein instructed the Minister of Health to expand health services and expedite the implementation of the Health Fund, emphasizing the need for immediate action in these critical areas.

The President stressed, “We will not accept negligence in work. The Minister of Public Works lost his job due to failure in road construction. This strict accountability will ensure efficient operations.”

In conclusion, President Ali Abdullahi Hussein reiterated the importance of unity in the fight against terrorism, calling for collective efforts from all stakeholders.
