Addis-Ababa (LM) H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, warmly welcomed H.E. Sheikh Khalifa Al Harthy, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman.
In their discussions, both leaders emphasized the deep-rooted and amicable relations between Africa and the Sultanate of Oman. They reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
The meeting also served as a platform for exchanging views on pressing regional developments, particularly addressing the situations in Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to fostering peace, stability, and dialogue in the region.
Mr. Youssouf noted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the challenges facing these nations and reiterated the AU’s readiness to work alongside Oman to promote peace initiatives.
