Former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed:  Elections in there are fraudulent and unacceptable.

Mogadishu (LM) The Former President of Somalia, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, voiced strong opposition to the planned elections, declaring them fraudulent and unacceptable. “The Somali Salvation Forum does not accept, nor will I allow, the fraudulent elections taking place there; we do not accept those results,” he stated emphatically.

Mr. Ahmed, speaking at a night gathering by opposition leaders, indicated the need for legitimacy in the electoral process, insisting that “elections must be legitimate.” He further called for these elections to arise from a comprehensive political agreement, underscoring the importance of inclusivity and dialogue among various stakeholders.

“There must be discussions, and it must be inclusive. We expect this from the current government, whose term has expired,” he uttered, stressing the urgency for a transparent and fair electoral process.

His call for legitimate elections echoes a broader sentiment among many citizens and political leaders who demand accountability and integrity in the governance process.
