AU, Arab League, and UN Leaders Discuss Sudan Crisis at Arab League Summit

Mogadishu (LM) On the sidelines of the 34th Arab League Summit, key leaders, including H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission; H.E. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States; and H.E. Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, convened to address the escalating situation in Sudan.

The leaders expressed deep concern regarding the worsening conflict and humanitarian crisis in Sudan, urging for urgent international action to halt the violence, ensure humanitarian access, and support a lasting ceasefire.

In their joint statement, they emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts to resolve the conflict peacefully. They reaffirmed their commitment to Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, recognizing the need for a collaborative approach to restore regional stability.
